Rebuilding and enclosing this entrance has created a smart, practical porch with new glazing, insulated panels, an entrance door and two new front steps.
The ABS Home Improvements team recently completed this new porch for a homeowner in Garboldisham, Norfolk.
The original entrance had a tiled canopy supported by posts but remained open at the front and sides. To create a fully enclosed porch, we rebuilt the base and raised the floor to the required level.
Two new front steps were constructed to provide access to the raised porch floor. We then installed Anthracite Grey-on-white uPVC frames with A-rated toughened double-glazed windows and insulated lower panels.
A matching Anthracite Grey-on-white uPVC entrance door completes the new porch and gives the front of the property a much more substantial appearance.
The work covered both the structural preparation and the complete uPVC porch installation.
The existing base was rebuilt in preparation for the new enclosure.
The porch floor was built up to create the correct finished level.
New front steps provide access to the raised entrance.
Toughened double-glazed windows bring plenty of natural light into the porch.
Insulated lower panels provide a solid and practical finish.

The original open entrance has been transformed into a fully enclosed, double-glazed porch.
Enclosing the entrance provides a useful sheltered area between the exterior and the original front door. The large glazed sections keep the new porch bright while the insulated lower panels provide a robust finish at ground level.
Anthracite Grey creates a strong contrast against the red brickwork, while the white interior face helps the enclosed space remain light.
